About Beccy Howe RCST
I have worked in the health and therapy field for a total of 15 years.
I first became interested in this work after ‘putting my back out’ on a funfair ride as a teenager. A lovely Osteopath helped me out then.
Initially I studied Swedish massage, Aromatherapy and then Acupressure. I moved on to more energetic things with teaching exercise to adults too. I became more and more drawn to helping people to slow down and relax. The stretch and relaxation part of my classes and training became so long I had to re-direct my career!
It was after a long traveling trip that I came across Craniosacral Therapy. The more I learnt of this, the more I knew becoming a Craniosacral Therapist was right for me. After researching schools, techniques and lots of study and treatments, I graduated from the Craniosacral Therapy Educational Trust in London in 2000.
I was a Registered Craniosacral Therapist (RCST) in England with the Craniosacral Therapy Association in England. I am now a Registered Craniosacral Therapist in Sydney, Australia with the Pacific Association of Craniosacral Therapists.
I have studied various postgraduate courses and trainings including:
Pathology & Disease,
Shock & Trauma,
Birth,
Pre-Natal & Birth Dynamics
and Working With The Spirit.
These were with Franklyn and Moira Sills at the Karuna Institute. and Mike Boxhall among others. Mike Boxhall’s work in particular has been, and still is, a great inspiring influence.
I have also spent 6 wonderful years working in Early Education where I obtained further qualifications in child development and health including Diploma of Children’s Services.
I feel truly blessed to now be able to combine all my experience and training in one – Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy for babies, children and adults.
I have a young child of my own now too which has increased my understanding of, and compassion for, babies, children and their parents even further.
My Craniosacral work deepens steadily with ongoing training, study, self-work, supervision and treatment. It has developed into a holistic, particularly gentle yet powerful approach.
Outside of treating I enjoy yoga, bush walking, swimming, eating great food with friends, painting and time to just sit and be.
